madison shiver question
hi ms eubanks i couldnt find my questions that i posted so im going to repost them.... here are my questions about the arctic...
do the people there use solar power as one of their main energy sources?
how many different types of birds did you study?
as the permafrost is melting, did you or any of your fellow scientists create a theory at which the permafrost will completely melt if people continue not to care about global warming?

Hi Madison,
I am glad that you reposted your questions.
I am still waiting for a response regarding the solar power, someone else asked a similar question. I do know that they do NOT use it as a main energy source. Although my time in town and at peoples homes was limited I did not see any sign of solar power use at all. I will add to the answer, when I get a response.
I looked at about 25 different birds and got to "study" them on my own - just for fun. But I did get to work with a few researchers who were studying Snowy Owls and Pectoral Sandpipers.
I will look into the permafrost question a little deeper. No one that I was with created a theory about that, but I am sure someone - somewhere has.
What do you think?
From the Tropics- Thanks for your great questions,
Mrs. Eubanks
