Hey Kim!!
Drilling is VERY hard work, but it does depend on the ice. I've gotten pretty good at recognizing and adjusting accordingly. The blue is is very hard, cold ice and VERY tough to drill through. Unfortunately, we have broken three Jiffy drills and lost three flights of drill bits as they got stuck in the ice and then froze in.
